The aim of this book is to help the reader pass the PPL(A) Microlight examinations and also to provide a real understanding and recognition of the factors which influence safe flight.
This new eighth edition continues to fulfil the aim to update where necessary. Particular attention has been paid to those aspects of air law where the microlight aeroplane may be operating under exemptions from the law as laid down in the Air Navigation Order. Such exemptions are unlikely to be covered in other publications on air law but they still require legal compliance and the pilot must have knowledge of them.
An additional chapter has been added on Foot Launched Powered Flying machines (FLPFM). The revised edition of this comprehensive Flying and Ground Training Manual has been written to cover in detail the requirements for the Microlight Pilot examinations pertaining to: Air Legislation, Air Traffic Rules and Services, Pilot Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Principles of Flight, Microlight Engines and Instruments, Flying Training and Progress Tests.
Synopsis
