Alaska Airlines Lockheed L-1649A Starliner - Plastic Model - N7316C - 1/200

In commemoration of the Alaskan Gold Rush shortly before the end of the 19th century, Alaska Airlines launched its "Golden Nugget Service" in the early 1960s. Not only was a new red and gold livery introduced, but the interior also featured red and gold tones. Flight attendants were dressed in period costumes, wearing long velvet skirts, wide hats, and puff-sleeved shirts. From 1962 to 1968, Alaska Airlines operated two L-1649s as part of its own route network and for military charter duties. This Starliner, along with two others, was later purchased by Lufthansa to restore it to airworthy condition. The project was unfortunately discontinued, and the future of N7316C remains uncertain.
