This is a 1/48 scale military scale diecast model from Hobbymaster. This model is the Hobbymaster Hawker Hurricane IIc BD983, S/L James MacLachlan, No.1 Sqn., Northolt from November 1941 to June 1942.
At RAF Tangmere, James A.F. MacLachlan served as a squadron leader for the No. 1 Squadron. After suffering severe injuries in 1941 and having an arm amputated, MacLachlan resumed flying seven months later. He is credited with 16 victories over Italian and German aircraft, including two over Malta, five over France, and seven at night. Together with Karel Kuttelwascher, MacLachlan achieved five victories over France in May 1942, earning him the title of night fighter ACE. MacLachlan received the DSO as a result of these successes.
