Based on the original plain B-15 jacket, Top Gun® created a version featuring assorted patches created solely for Top Gun. The B-15 is the initial nylon flight jacket that was designed in about 1944 to make sure that our Air Force pilots were kept warm.

BRIEF HISTORY OF BOMBER JACKETS
Bomber Jackets were first introduced during the World War I for bomber pilots because that needed to be were well suited for chilly & cramped cockpits and were really helpful for the pilot to fight in adverse weather conditions. Since then bomber jackets have enjoyed a varied and diverse history from a military to a modern man's outfit.
